When Michael was gravely injured, I knew of only one woman in this world that would help him overcome his weaknesses. Stefanie "Stevie" Mason was his shining star, a radiant beacon of beauty and stability.She was a symbol of hope, the last connection to his former life as Detective Michael Long. When they were wed, Michael and Stevie should have had the life they so rightfully deserved. After Stevie was gunned down - I feared the worst for Michael - a fear that he might ignore the lessons Wilton taught him in the short time they knew eachother and embrace a need for revenge against Durante for Stevie's death. It was a cruel reminder that a lone crusader must be "alone" to do his job. Michael's choice to allow the law to handle the matter assured me beyond reasonable doubt that Michael Knight would always fight for the right choice...the positive one. - DM
